PERFORMING ARTS SOCIETY OF REDDING

Seeks Board Directors and Volunteers for 2023- 2024

PAS HISTORY: Since 1984, PAS has provided monthly small ensemble performances to Redding and the surrounding community—the second Friday of each month. The concerts feature chamber music, classical soloists, jazz, world music, dance, and poetry readings. Board of Directors meets bi-monthly (monthly if necessary) on the first Monday evening of a month, in hybrid format. Directors are elected annually or as vacancies occur, and hold office for a minimum of 1 year. All positions are on a volunteer basis.

Media Publicist for Print, Radio, and TV Advertising Prepare a standard information release, and send a draft to the Program Director for approval. Disseminate release to available publicity outlets by target date. Update and maintain source list by scouting new venues, calendars, and news columns; delete sources which prove useless. Four weeks prior to performance, Program Director will send a detailed blurb and photo as seen on Mailchimp for the next concert. In addition, a shorter blurb of the Upcoming concert after that will be provided. Due date for publicity to media sources is Friday 3 weeks before performance, with possible exclusion of December. Must attend board meetings and concerts.

President Oversees board member roles and duties, prepares and sends out the meeting agenda to board members, leads board meetings, and coordinates all details of the performances. The president must be a Shasta County resident. We desire a leader with strong connections to local community organizations and a passion for the performing arts. The ideal candidate should have nonprofit board experience or formal board training.

Members at large These directors perform important roles at concerts: greeter, stage manager, usher, production assistant, or post-concert strike team.

We appreciate your interest.
